REFLEKTOR EXPERIENCES: WHY MY QUICK DECISION WAS A MISTAKE
Many people believe that good decisions have to be made quickly.
I used to think that way, too.
When an opportunity arose, I wanted to seize it.
When a decision had to be made, I wanted clarity.
Today I know that, for me, that approach often didn’t work.
THE SITUATION
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to move into a new apartment.
The apartment was attractive:
good location
reasonable rent
modern amenities
available on short notice
Actually, everything pointed in its favor.
My friends said:
“You have to jump on this right away.”
And that’s exactly what I did.
THE QUICK DECISION
Within a few days, I signed the lease.
I was convinced.
I was looking forward to the move.
And at first, everything felt right.
THE DOUBTS
But a few weeks later, I noticed something strange.
My enthusiasm began to wane.
New thoughts began to surface.
I started noticing things I’d overlooked before:
the area felt unsettling
the neighborhood didn’t really suit me
the apartment suddenly seemed less appealing
The more time passed, the more uncertain I became.
WHY IT WAS SO CONFUSING
The problem was:
My decision made sense.
On paper, everything pointed in its favor.
And yet, it didn’t feel right in the long run.
For a long time, I thought I was simply indecisive.
Maybe even flighty.
Today, I see it differently.
THE HUMAN DESIGN INSIGHT
As a Reflector, my decision-making process works differently than most people’s.
Reflectors are exceptionally attuned to their surroundings.
They perceive people, moods, and changes very intensely.
That’s why one of the most important recommendations for Reflectors is:
Don’t rush important decisions.
Ideally, they should observe a situation over the course of a full lunar cycle.
WHY TIME IS SO IMPORTANT FOR REFLECTORS
A lot changes over the course of a month:
Perceptions
Feelings
Impressions
Perspectives
What seems fantastic on Day 1 can seem completely different on Day 20.
And vice versa.
That’s why time helps you get a more complete picture.
Not because Reflectors are slow.
But because they take in a particularly large amount of information.
WHAT I DO DIFFERENTLY TODAY
Today, I try to be much more patient when making important decisions.
Whenever possible:
I sleep on it for several nights
I talk to people I trust
I observe my impressions over a longer period of time
Above all, I no longer try to force clarity right away.
THE RESULT
Since then, I’ve been making decisions in a much more relaxed way.
The pressure to find an answer right away has disappeared.
And surprisingly, my decisions feel much more solid today.
Not because I think more.
But because I give myself more time.
MY CONCLUSION AS A REFLECTOR
One of the most important insights from my Human Design analysis was:
Not every decision has to be made immediately.
Sometimes, strength doesn’t lie in speed.
But in observation.
For me, patience today doesn’t mean uncertainty.
But trust in my own process.
DO YOU RECOGNIZE YOURSELF IN THIS?
Have you ever made a decision that felt right at first but suddenly didn’t anymore later on?
Do you often feel influenced by those around you?
Do you sometimes need more time than other people to truly gain clarity?
Then your Human Design could provide valuable answers.
